10:07pm (Warrant Arrest)
P.O. Meade and
P.O. Doran responded to the Emerson Police Department, which reported arresting
a 21-year-old male from Hillsdale, New Jersey, on a criminal warrant out of
River Edge. The defendant was unable to post bail and was transported to the
Bergen County Jail, where he was turned over to the staff.

4:42 PM (Theft)
P.O. Goez
responded to CVS Pharmacy, 135 Kinderkamack Road, for a reported package theft.
The victim stated he had purchased two electronic devices from an online store
and had them shipped to CVS Pharmacy for pickup. The victim reported receiving
a notification that his package was ready for pickup, only to find out that an
unknown male suspect had retrieved it earlier in the day. The matter was
forwarded to the River Edge Police Department Detective Bureau for a follow up
investigation.

12:19PM (Disorderly Person)
Sgt. Diamond and
P.O. Hamm responded to CVS Pharmacy, 135 Kinderkamack Road, for a reported
disorderly person inside the store. Officers located a 31-year-old River Edge
male who was verbally aggressive toward pharmacy staff. The male was asked to
leave the store and was given a trespass warning, preventing him from
returning.

5:27pm (Shoplifting)
The River Edge
Police Department responded to Palmer Ace Hardware, 940 Kinderkamack Road, on a
reported shoplifting. Store employees stated an unknown male took merchandise
totaling $519.98, and fled the store without paying. The male was last seen
getting into a black Volkswagen and fleeing the area. The matter was forwarded
to the River Edge Police Department Detective Bureau for a follow up
investigation.

2:52pm (Fraud)
A resident on
North Drive, reported he was the victim of fraud by someone fraudulently
changing his New Jersey Driver’s License information. The victim was provided
an identity theft booklet. The matter was forwarded to the River Edge Police
Department Detective Bureau for a follow up investigation.

9:15pm (Trespassing)
A resident in the
400 block of Bogert Road reported seeing footprints in the snow on her
property. The resident also reported seeing a white vehicle make a U-turn in a
neighbor’s driveway, then pull up in front of her dwelling and take
photographs. This suspicious incident was forwarded to the River Edge Police
Department Detective Bureau for a follow-up investigation.

5:47pm (Fraud)
Officers responded
to 1001 Main Street, Total Wine & More, on a report of a suspicious
incident. Store employees stated a male attempted to use a stolen credit card
from Yonkers, New York, and when the $3,000.00 transaction was declined, he
fled the store. Officers attempted to search for the suspect with negative
results. This suspicious incident was forwarded to the River Edge Police
Department Detective Bureau for follow-up investigation.

3:11pm (Warrant Arrest)
P.O. Escudero
conducted a motor vehicle stop at Bogert Road and Oswego Place. An
investigation revealed that the driver, a 20-year-old female from Palisades
Park, New Jersey, was wanted out of Teaneck, New Jersey. The defendant was
unable to post bail and was released on her own recognizance pending her new
court date.

11:21am (Theft/Fraud)

A business on Ackerson Street reported being the victim of fraud and theft
after a bank check was stolen from the United States Postal Service and
altered. The suspect cashed the check under a different name. The matter was
forwarded to the River Edge Police Department Detective Bureau for a follow-up
investigation.

10:59pm (Shoplifting)
Sgt. Prisendorf
and P.O. Mastropierro responded to CVS Pharmacy, 135 Kinderkamack Road, for a
report of shoplifting. P.O. Mastropierro located the suspect, Curtis Wheless
III from Paterson, New Jersey, in front of the store. An investigation revealed
that Wheless took $229.14 worth of merchandise and fled the store without
paying. Wheless was arrested, charged with shoplifting, and released on his own
recognizance pending his appearance in the Superior Court of New Jersey.

A resident in the
900 block of Elm Avenue, reported she was the victim of fraud by someone
fraudulently withdrawing funds out of his bank account. The victim was provided
an identity theft booklet. The matter was forwarded to the River Edge Police
Department Detective Bureau for a follow up investigation.

A resident on Demarest Place reported being the victim of fraud and theft after
a bank check was stolen from the United States Postal Service and altered. The
suspect cashed the check under a different name and for a different dollar
amount. The matter was forwarded to the River Edge Police Department Detective
Bureau for a follow-up investigation.

8:41pm (Public Intoxication)
Officers responded
to the area of 900 block of 5th Avenue, for a reported intoxicated
party. Officers located a 55-year-old from, River Edge, New Jersey, who was
heavily intoxicated. He was subsequently transported to a local hospital for
treatment.

1:23am (DWI)
Officer Colucci
conducted a motor vehicle stop on Midland Avenue, near the intersection of
Myrtle Avenue, for multiple motor vehicle violations. An investigation revealed
Kareem Sallam, from Paramus, New Jersey was operating his vehicle under the
influence. Sallam was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, and
released pending his appearance in River Edge Municipal Court.
