A Message from the Police Chief<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

On behalf of the River Edge Police Department, I would like to welcome you to our website and take this opportunity to introduce you to our organization.<\/span><\/p>

The River Edge Police Department is a highly professional organization, committed to achieving excellence in all that we do. As you can see by reviewing the roster tab, we are a 24-officer department with additional support from civilian employees, and several volunteer police reserves.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Our mission is to improve the overall quality of life, reduce the fear of crime, and ensure a peaceful, safe environment for residents, business owners, and all those who visit the Borough.\u00a0 We strive to fulfill this mission by employing a wide range of strategies. These include collaborating with community members to identify and creatively solve problems, engaging in education and enforcement efforts, thoroughly investigating criminal acts to hold persons accountable, and provide relief for crime victims.\u00a0 Always doing so with unconditional unbiased decency and with a community policing mindset at the heart of everything we do.<\/span><\/p>

Our success at fulfilling this mission can be attributed largely to the remarkably dedicated staff comprising our department. We have made a commitment to hiring only the very best, and are proud that the men and women of the River Edge Police Department display a passion for service unparalleled in policing.\u00a0 I encourage you to take the time to talk with any of our officers when you see them around town.\u00a0 You will find that they are dedicated, well trained, and enthusiastic professionals, who take pride in their work.\u00a0 We know that by working together, we can make your home, your workplace, and our community an even better place to live.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

As an organization and as individuals, we are continuously seeking ways to improve our ability to serve the community. We will soon begin the process of becoming accredited by The Rodgers Group, an entity devoted to establishing professional standards and fostering policing excellence throughout the State of New Jersey.\u00a0 We truly believe that through dedication and effort, we can be a model police department, deserving of the immense trust placed in us by the community we serve.<\/span><\/p>
